Where do you source all of your goods?

We work directly with the artisans and businesses who are based in South Africa and Kenya. We prioritize working with women-owned businesses who share our values of ecological sustainability and social impact. Head on over to our blog to learn more about our partners. 

 

What does the name Zawadisha mean?

Zawadisha is a Swahili word and it means "to give a gift."

How do you ship? 

We're a very small team, so please don't expect any Amazon-like two hour shipping from us. We like to take our time to make sure that your goods are packaged with love.

All orders over $150 ship free.

We're a small women-owned business with 100% of proceeds benefitting our non-profit Zawadisha, and that's one reason why we charge for shipping for orders under $100. There also is a real cost, from the supplies, to the person who packs it, to the person who delivers it. Shipping rates are automatically calculated, and you chipping in a bit means that we get to keep people employed.  Thank you :)

We ship once a week. Please provide a valid address when placing your order. We ship UPS for all of our baskets and USPS for smaller items, like jewelry. To inquire about international shipping rates or any other shipping inquiries, please contact us.

 

Do you ship internationally?

We do ship to certain international destinations. Please be advised, you are responsible for any duties/VAT/taxes that are imposed on imported goods in your country. We are not able to add those fees on to your purchase. Please understand what taxes/duties you may be responsible for and how you pay those fees, prior to making your purchase. Please be advised, we have temporarily halted shipping to the UK until we can determine how best to implement the new Brexit rules. 

 

What's your return policy?

Not happy with our goods? Return your unused items within 14 days for a full refund.

We do not offer exchanges; you are welcome to purchase the item you want, and when we receive your return, we will process your refudn.

Returns incur the actual cost of shipping, which we will inform you of in advance of shipping. All returns must receive an RA number. We only accept returns on items purchased directly from us. All sale items are final sale and we do not offer returns or exchanges. Contact us with questions or to make arrangements for your return. 

 

Can I use more than one discount code?

Sorry friends, only one discount code per order. Many of our codes have expiration dates, so the best way to stay in the know about our deals is to sign up for our weekly e-mail.
